Witness Men by Rebecca DavisAbout the Book:
In 1938, in the remote highlands of a mountainous island, explorers discovered thousands upon thousands of tribal people. Missionaries began to come, to bring the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Little did they know that many of the people of the tribes were waiting . . . waiting . . . for someone to come and help them out of the darkness of their old way of life. Witness Men consists of true missionary stories that took place throughout the highlands of Papua, Indonesia, from 1955 to 2010, when one of the tribes received their first New Testaments.

God's Special Tent by Jean StapletonAbout the Book:
Do you like tents? Perhaps you’ve gone camping, staying in one place and then moving to another. God’s people the Israelites lived in tents in the wilderness as they moved from Egypt to the Promised Land. God gave them instructions about how to make a special tent – where He could be present among His people. Find out about how they made this tent and what special furniture and curtains were placed inside it. How did they build the tent and how did they carry it from one place to another? The priests made sacrifices to atone for the sin of the people, but the tabernacle or tent of meeting was a place that taught the people about the one who was going to save them from their sin for good – Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah. His sacrifice would mean that no other sacrifices were needed and that people could worship God all around the world.

  • History of construction of the first Tabernacle
  • Includes pull-out section on how to make your own special tent
  • Taken from the book of Exodus
  • Perfect for kids ages 8 – 12

November Book Giveaway – Nate Saint Operation Auca by Nancy Drummond

Nate Saint Operation Auca by Nancy DrummondAbout the Book:
On January 8, 1956, Nate Saint and some other missionaries flew to an area near an Auca village and landed at strip of sand that they had named Palm Beach. This was Nate’s final flight for he and four other missionaries on the plane that day were martyred when tribesmen attacked with spears a few days later.

Although this was Nate’s last flight – it wasn’t the end of his work. What he and the other martyred missionaries had done for the Kingdom of God convicted many to listen to God’s call to mission. And the work of evangelism continued to the Aucas too. Many in that village came to accept Christ including several of the men who had thrown their spears on that terrible day.

Nate Saint: Operation Auca is one of the seven books currently available in the Torchbearers biography series published by Christian Focus 4 Kids.

October Book Giveaway – Martin Luther What Should I Do? by Catherine Mackenzie

Martin Luther What Should I Do? by Catherine MacKenzieWith Reformation Day (October 31) just around the corner, we’ve been thinking a lot about Martin Luther, so we’re featuring Martin Luther: What Should I Do? by Catherine Mackenzie in the October Book Giveaway on the Christian Focus 4 Kids Blog.

About the Book:
The true story of Martin Luther and the Reformation. What would you do if you were hungry and needed your supper? Would you stand outside someone’s door and sing for it? At the boarding school in Eisenach, Martin and his friends had to sing for their supper. As well as working out ways to get some tasty food before bedtime Martin spent a lot of time thinking about how to get to heaven. Martin thought that he had to pray for hours on end, eat very little, work very hard and study a great many good books in order to have his sins forgiven. However, as he began to read God’s Word for himself he discovered that the answer was not in doing these things, but by putting his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
